The Wallflowers performed 9 shows with Counting Crows in December 2003. Five shows were in San Francisco, four shows in Los Angeles. These shows were punctuated with a number of songs that had previously rarely, if ever, performed by the band.

8th

The Wallflowers kicked off their December tour with Counting Crows at the Warfield in San Francisco. They performed their cover of "Into the Mystic" for the first time, they played "For The Life of Me," a rarely played song from their first CD, and they played "God Don't Make Lonely Girls" for the first time since the (Breach) tour. 9th

The Wallflowers played their second show at the Warfield in San Francisco. This set-list had many firsts. Played for the first time ever: "I'm Looking Through You," "Asleep At The Wheel," and "Kids Are Alright." The full setlist:

12th

Tonight's show at the Warfield had several twists. The Wallflowers played a song they haven't played in 10 years ("After The Blackbird Sings"), an unreleased song  ("How Far You've Come") and another song they haven't played since the BDTH tour ("Laughing Out Loud"). Here's the full setlist:

Some notes about this set:
**Adam Duritz joined the band on stage for 6th Avenue Heartache **Sleepwalker and How Far You've Come were acoustic songs, with just Jakob and Rami on keys. On "How Far" Rami played accordian. **Jakob and Rami started out on One Headlight alone and the full band joined them midway. The song progressed from an haunting acoustic song to a full band rocker.

 


13th

The band played two songs from their first album tonight and offered some new arrangements on other songs. The set list:

**Before tonight, "After the Blackbird Sings" and "Be Your Own Girl" had been played once since 1993 (ATBS was played 12.12.03; BYOG was played 6.30.01).
**"Everything I Need" was a slow, acoustic version with just Jakob and Rami.
**"Sleepwalker" started out with just Jakob and Rami then the full band joined [at the bridge]
**Adam Duritz joined the Wallflowers for "6th Avenue Heartache."
**The band joined Counting Crows in the encore for "Long December" and "Heroes."  

 

15th

The Wallflowers played a full set at The Warfield for Monday night's show. They played "Letters From the Wasteland" for the first time on the tour. The setlist:

16th

For the first time in their history, The Wallflowers had to cancel tonight's performance at The Warfield in San Francisco. Jakob was stricken with the flu and, on doctors' orders, had to cancel the performance. 

19th

The band played a great series of songs for their first concert in Los Angeles at the Wiltern LG on Friday, December 19th, including two songs from their first album and an unreleased song. Here's the complete setlist:

**This was the first time the band played "Baby Bird" this tour; it has only been played 3 other times in 2003 (April and July).
**Charlie Gillingham from the Counting Crows joined the band for "6th Avenue Heartache" (Adam did not).
**This was a new & very different version of "Invisible City." Jakob and Yogi both played acoustic guitar, Fred a shaker, and Rami on keys.
**"Everything I Need" was a slow, acoustic version with just Jakob on acoustic and Rami on keys.
**"One Headlight" started out acoustic with Jakob and Rami, the full band joined mid-way.
**This was only the second time since the (Breach) tour that the band played "God Don't Make Lonely Girls" (Dec. 12th).

Notes:
**This was the first show of this tour that the band played "Josephine" 
**"How Far You've Come" was an acoustic version with just Jakob and Rami **"Heroes" was played 1/2 acoustic with just Jakob and Rami and then full band for the last half of the song. This is only the second time they played it this way.
**"Run Rudolph Run"! It's the first time the band covered this holiday song made popular by Chuck Berry. Jakob sang the song in a Santa hat. Rami, when his hands weren't on the key boards, threw candy canes in to the crowd.
**The Wallflowers played "6th Avenue Heartache" in the encore with Counting Crows
